Annual Blessing of Sonoita Vineyards The Blessing of Sonoita Vineyards is an old tradition that the winery has continued since it first planted the vineyard in 1979.  Ever since the first Blessing, where a double rainbow appeared amongst dark monsoon clouds, crowds have gathered to witness ministers and priests bless the vines so that they may grow and prosper during the growing season to produce a bountiful crop at harvest time.  The steel tanks and oak barrels that play a vital role in transforming the grape juice into exquisite wine are also blessed in anticipation of the new vintage.  Following the blessing ceremony the celebration moves to the winery for fun, food, and wine tasting.  Live music, dancing and horseback riding will be featured throughout the day.
